Salvador Anthony De la Rosa, III, born in Washington, D.C., passed away September 3, 2011 in his home surrounded by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents; and father, Salvador De la Rosa, II.
Salvador is survived by his mother, Mary M. Pando; the love of his life, Kathy Carlson; daughter, Jennifer Garcia; grandson, Gregorio Garcia; sister, Elena D. Cantu; brothers, Robert De la Rosa, Javier Gutierrez of Houston; nieces and nephews.
He served with the US Navy during the Vietnam War.
"Sal" fostered a Chen Style Tai Chi legacy in San Antonio. He is recognized by the Chinese and USA Tai Chi Federations.
A visitation with service will be held Monday, September 12, 2011 from 12 to 4 pm at FuneralCaring USA Select Chapel.
Interment will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 2:00pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
